Description

Located in the heart of the Jardin des Plantes, the Museum offers 2,800 m² of natural heritage exhibits.

With more than three million specimens in its reserves, an exceptional mineralogy collection, tens of thousands of fossils, insects and birds, and a unique herbarium for botanical knowledge, it is an essential place for discovering nature, mountains and science.

Built in the 19th century in the plant-filled setting of the Jardin des Plantes, the Grenoble Museum is now a meeting place, welcoming visitors and sharing knowledge of the human, life and earth sciences. An experience for all the family!

The museum's collections are regularly featured in permanent and temporary exhibitions, and are the focus of a wide range of activities: workshops, films, lectures, debates...

With 6 accessible rooms, the Museum d'Histoire Naturelle de Grenoble is a conservation and presentation center for our natural heritage, and a remarkable site for the dissemination of scientific knowledge.

> La Montagne Vivante (The Living Mountain): a veritable meeting place for the natural environment and animal species of the Alpine world, whose diversity can be explored from slide show to slide show.
